I can't say thank you enough to this wonderful woman. She was such an inspiring dancer and a joy to work with. It's always so cool to photograph other artists because they always put their best foot forward and try their best to make the shoot a success.

Also thank you to Matt (Kayla's boyfriend) and my always helpful wife Melissa.

Hi guys, It's been a little while since I've posted.

If you are a client of mine and had a shoot posted on my blog between June 2011- July 2011 you may have noticed some other pictures being associated with your shoot (thanks Ryan for pointing this out). I am going to try and get that sorted out this weekend. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Here is a little sneak peak of a session that did with Linda and Fred on New Years Eve. They had just gotten married and I got to take their pictures right afterward. They're an incredibly fun couple and wish them all the best!

Joy and Oj's wedding preview

Comment

This was my last wedding of the year and it was a great one. Joy and Oj, or as I heard someone at their wedding call them "Ojoy", had a beautiful wedding despite the rain that day. Here are a few of my favorites.

I also would like to send a big thank you to Nicole, my second shooter for that day. Your awesome!

Maddie's first year!

I can't believe it's been a year already. It honestly seems like I just did her newborn photos. She is just a little doll and it looked like she actually kind of had fun on our shoot. She was not the biggest fan of the basket that we put her in however but I did manage to get one good one where she was not too upset.

I have been photographing the Libby's for about 3 years now I think and I am so thankful to them for their constant support of my business. Thanks so much you guys!

Here are a few photos from my fashion / lifestyle shoot the other day. The models name is Hannah Garret and she was just a rock star the entire day. I have so many good shots from that session, but here are a some of my favs. The Make-up artists name is Mabel, who is incredibly talented and passionate about what she does. I enjoyed working with both of them immensely and thank them both for their hard work.

Henry's annual photos

Comment

It's that time again for Henry's annual photos.

This year we split them into 2 parts. The first was at the Escondido Fire Department, which was awesome! I have to send a big thank you out to those guys for letting us use their station. They were incredibly kind, patient and cooperative. The second was a white background family photo shoot at my house.

Everyone did a great job, especially Henry who looked great in his Buzz Lightyear outfit.

Editing

I have come to really enjoy a lot of the non-photo taking elements of photography, such as writing blog posts, making sure things work correctly on my site, managing social networks, answering client email, speaking with clients over the phone, planning for the next shoot, etc, etc. But one element that I have really started to enjoy the most is the editing. I think that is because I can see real time progress, going from a RAW image to a finished product. It's like starting with a lump of clay and ending up with something beautiful.

I just thought I would give a little love to one of the tools that makes the editing process a fluid, and fun process. The photo below is of a Wacom tablet. It is what I use to "pretty people up" for lack of a better term. I can paint light, remove blemishes and yes, even push in that little extra something that most of us have in the stomach region. Anyone who has been my client has seen most of my camera gear in all its glory but when all is said and done sometimes the pen is mightier than the sword...
